Note di degustazione
The plum, blueberry, and cherry-scented 2002 Chambertin is supple, pure, sweet, and lush. This feminine, medium to full-bodied wine soars across the palate with waves of candied red and black cherries. Surprisingly sumptuous, feminine, and graceful for a young Chambertin, its generous personality lingers to reveal additional layers of fruit enveloping perfectly ripened tannin. Drink it between 2007 and 2017. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802. Readers should note that Vincent Girardin also bottles some of these same wines under the Baron de la Charriere label, imported by Eric Solomon (European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel. 704-358-1565)

Good medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of black raspberry, smoked meat and spicy oak. Dense, sweet and large-scaled, with very well integrated acidity giving shape to the flavors of black plum, cassis, licorice and bitter chocolate. This has superb energy in the mouth. Builds impressively on the long, strong finish.
Deep colour. Very, very exaggeratedly ripe nose. Rather aggressive oak on the nose. Chewy. Hollow. May well get there in the end. (JR)
