Like with the 2016s, the 2015 Pinot Noir One Acre comes from the southern part of Anderson Valley, at the top of the hill, and it’s fun to compare this cuvée to the Cerise Vineyard, which comes from just down the slope, on the hillside. This 2015 offers lots of dried cherries, red currants, underbrush and classic forest floor characteristics in a ripe, layered, expansive style. It’s certainly one of the more charming, opulent wines in the lineup. This is another estate making a distinctly vibrant, fresh style of wine that’s going to appeal to the Burgundy lovers out there. It’s an incredibly educational tasting going through all these different single vineyards from Ted Lemon and these are interesting, singular wines. As a whole, the 2015s shows slightly more oomph compared to the 2016s, yet both vintages have vibrant acidity and balanced profiles. As expected, quantities are slightly up in 2016.

The 2015 Pinot Noir One Acre has come together beautifully over the last year. The inner sweetness and fruit that was at an embryonic stage last year has finally begun to emerge as the tannins have softened and integrated into the wine's fabric. Sweet, perfumed and wonderfully pliant, with fabulous aromatic depth, the 2015 has it all. The One Acre is a wine of pure sensuality and grace, not to mention a total knock-out.

The 2015 Pinot Noir One Acre is another powerful, tannic wine. Even so, there is enough nascent richness to make me think the 2015 will flesh out during its aging in barrel and then bottle. Readers should expect to be patient, as the One Acre is likely to need time to fully come together. Dark red and purplish fruit, violet and rose petal linger on the close.

This is a pinot with lots of generous fruit yet it\'s held together with bright acidity and firm tannins that give the red form and tension. Wonderful depth and beauty. Needs two to three years to soften.
