Note di degustazione
Deep ruby-purple, the 2015 Syrah Seymour's Vineyard (100% Syrah) opens very slowly to a deep well of aromas: pure blackberry pie, baked boysenberries, Morello cherries, coffee beans, licorice, lilac, beef drippings and a touch of toasted coconut with a note of iron in the undercurrent. The palate is full-bodied and intensely flavored but mind-bendingly light and fresh at the same time, with layer after layer of flavors. It has insanely pixelated, detailed tannins and seamless freshness, the finish going on and on into the sunset. This is stunning and may get even better with a few years in bottle!

The most inky, dense, and backward of the lineup, the 2015 Syrah Seymour's comes from a windswept parcel at the top of the estate and is always the most structured, powerful, backward wine Alban makes. Offering an incredible bouquet of blackcurrants, blackberries, chocolate, salted meat, and iodine, it's massively concentrated and powerful on the palate, with ripe tannins, full-bodied richness, and a finish that won’t quit. It’s one of the greatest Syrahs I’ve tasted not only from Alban but from California. Do your best to hide bottles for 3-4 years, but it’s capable of evolving gracefully for 25-30 years or more.
