Early vintage. Very fresh and lively and very true to appellation, like the 2015. Floral with a savoury finish. Impressive. (JR)

Early-ripening vintage. Ageing in oak (around two-thirds new) for 14–16 months. More oak on the nose. Though there is savour on the palate. Lots of heft and energy. Certainly not creamy – almost beefy. Long and still very youthful but certainly ambitious.
The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has much more delineation and complexity than the 2018 Champ-Gain, and I might actually prefer the aromatics here to the 2019. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and crisp, displaying fine salinity on the finish and a hint of brioche and white chocolate on the aftertaste. Enjoy over the next decade.
