(Boudot's vines are on the Puligny side of the cru): Bright light yellow. Riper and muskier on the nose than the Bienvenues-Bâtard, offering scents of dried fruits and hazelnut. Fat, sweet and packed with yellow fruits but avoids coming off as weighty. In fact, this powerful, saline grand cru boasts lovely vivacity to go with its impressive depth of flavor. The tactile, echoing finish is long and savory but not phenolic. This wine comes from the lieu-dit called L'Epaule de Bâtard, which is on redder soil above Bienvenues-Bâtard. Structured to last; Boudot says he'd wait seven years to drink this wine.

The 2015 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a more reserved and conservative bouquet compared to the Bienvenue, with dew-speckled Granny Smith apples, grass clipping, wet granite aromas unfolding in the glass but never letting go completely. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, a little more tension and race than the Bienvenue yet displaying that same spicy, but here more saline finish that fans out with confidence. Excellent - this is very elegant.
Pale color. Cool green notes along with more exotic lichee on the reticent nose. Tactile, salty, backward and dry, conveying very good density to its concentrated yellow fruit flavors rounded by oak. Quite full but given shape by firm acidity. With a very long, dusty finish, this powerful, slightly aggressive grand cru will need time in the cellar.
