Note di degustazione
The 2021 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard, from vines planted in 1995, is impressively detailed and complex. Initial flinty tones give way to blueberries, blackberries, lavender, conifer forest, iron, blood orange and aniseed aromas. The medium-bodied palate is equally stunning with its generous layers of nuanced fruit. It has a particularly harmonious frame of velvety tannins and mouthwatering acidity and a very long, spicy finish. 373 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard was impressive last year. It is just as impressive today. Dark cherry, scorched earth, leather, tobacco and incense are all amplified in this decidedly potent, savory offering. Readers will find a brooding, muscular Pinot endowed with tons of tannin and overall structural heft.
Pale ruby in colour. Shy, with a benign funk and earthiness. Bright, super-fresh acid. Not as much fruit density as the rest of the portfolio. Lovely lightweight texture. (SCJ)
The 2021 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard is a potent, explosive wine. Dried flowers, mint, tobacco, incense, dried flowers, game and licorice are all front and center in this powerhouse Pinot. The fruit is not quite as forward here as it is in some of the other wines, but that is more an observation of style than quality.
