The 2020 Zinfandel Fredericks Vineyard is a dense, savory wine with a ton of mountain structure. Dried herbs, crushed flowers, mint, tobacco, cedar and licorice open gradually. In 2020, the Fredericks is a bit compact, with good energy and plenty of the tension that is a signature of the year. This fruit came in the day fires broke out, about three weeks earlier than normal. Ultimately, only one pick made it into the bottled wine.
