2020 Senses B.A. Thieriot Chardonnay

The 2020 Chardonnay B.A. Thieriot Vineyard is vibrant with fresh pear, crushed stone, and thyme. The palate offers a focused and more linear style that is driven by its acidity. This wine has phenomenal tension and energy, with Meyer lemon, salty minerality, and crunchy green apple. It will need a few years in the cellar to unwind and should be drunk over the following 10-15 years. Founded by three childhood friends, Christopher Strieter, Max Thieriot, and Myles Lawrence-Briggs, Senses Wines has their estate holdings in the West Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley appellations. With their esteemed winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown, they are producing some exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. They have slowly and steadily expanded their production from just 600 cases in 2012 to approximately 5000 cases today.

The 2020 Chardonnay B.A. Thieriot Vineyard is scented of apricot, fragrant green herbs and white pepper with bass tones of beeswax. The medium-bodied palate offers a nice dynamic between stony nuances and tangy acidity and broader savory flavors, with a satiny texture drawing out the perfumed finish. 205 cases were made.
