(60% new oak; mostly from St. Helena and Howell Mountain fruit): Dark ruby-red. Ripe, fresh aromas of blueberry, cassis, minerals and herbs. Plush and sweet but youthfully restrained, with a velvety texture to the dark fruit and dark chocolate flavors. Distinctly tight today but the finish is smooth, offering dusty tannins, good lift and a lingering element of baking spices.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a plush, generous wine bursting with dark red and black fruit, sweet spices and licorice. Layers of fruit build towards the generous, enveloping finish.
