Cask sample. Light and lively. No forced element. Very good for a village wine. (JR)

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village has a very pretty nose with brambly red fruit briary and light sous-bois aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red fruit, fine backbone, quite tannic with a touch of white pepper on the finish. A lovely Vosne-Romanée.
A slightly deeper pitched nose combines notes of red and blue fruit along with hints of sandalwood and exotic tea. The mouthfeel of the more concentrated flavors is also quite sleek and tension-filled while delivering fine length on the balanced finale. This could use better depth, but more should reasonably develop if it’s allowed a few years of keeping.
Cask sample. Pale, clear ruby. Zesty red fruits, redcurrant, red cherry, strawberry. Blood-orange-laced with some peppery spice, perhaps something a little exotic too. Elegant and precise. Soft tannins, open. (MH)
