The 2018 Grifi is dark and dusty in character, perfumed with a mix of black currants, vivid sage and dried roses. This envelopes the palate with polished red and blue fruits that give way to a salty staining of minerals, as sweet tannins slowly mount toward the close. While structured, the 2018 finishes with a mouthwatering freshness, leaving inner floral nuances, hints of sour citrus and savory spice. The Grifi is an equal-parts blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, which, in this vintage, will only require a short stay in the cellar to show its best.
