The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros has an attractive bouquet with scents of apple peelings, cold steel and flint-like aromas--austere, but nicely focused. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fine definition and harmony, gently building in the mouth towards what is quite an elegant and saline finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and you should have a fine Bougros on your hands.
60% of the crop saw oak. Extremely pale. Racy and wet stony with mid fruit concentration. Quite transparent and no oak in evidence. Hint of damp plaster. (JR)
Very pale green-tinged yellow. Lovely perfumed lift to the aromas of pink grapefruit and white flowers. Dense, saline and sweet; concentrated, rich and ripe but with lovely tension and tactile dusty-stone minerality to its grapefruit and ginger flavors. Picked at the perfect time, as Bougros harvested too late can be heavy. Serious but not austere, and very long on the aftertaste.
