Note di degustazione
Wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil, baking spices, fresh bread and toasted nuts, the 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Les Reisses Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with a satiny attack that segues into a rich mid-palate and underpinned by chalky structuring extract.

The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Reisses 1er Cru comes from almost century-old vines (the oldest planted in 1921) and it is matured in used 600-liter barrels. It is more backward on the nose compared to the other cuvées, demanding more coaxing from the glass. Lemon curd, touches of honeysuckle and fern emerge with time, all finely delineated. The palate is very well balanced with an absolute killer line of acidity. So much tension here (remarkable given the warmth of the season), saline with a fine twist of sour lemon on the finish. Excellent.
