Note di degustazione
The 2018 Bourgogne Chardonnay, which had been bottled by the time of my visit, has a clean, precise apple blossom and citrus-scented bouquet that shows impressive definition for a generic white Burgundy. The palate is taut and fresh with a touch of bitter lemon on the entry, superb acidity and a saline finish. You will not find a better white Bourgogne Blanc in 2018.

Aromas of orange rind, white peach and fresh pastry preface Moreau's 2018 Bourgogne Chardonnay, a medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural wine that's bright, lively and open-knit. More giving and immediate than the 2017, this will drink well on release.
100% barrel-fermented mainly in used oak. Bottled in August 2019. Fined but not filtered. Subtle, slightly smoky citrus. On the palate an intensity of fruit that I did not expect. Rich citrus even though it is bone dry. Generous and fresh. ‘I like this vintage for its richness of ripe fruit but not heavy or opulent’, says Alex Moreau. (JH)
