Note di degustazione
Although this wine does not follow the logic of the MGA (or official map of vineyard crus) for Barolo, fruit is sourced exclusively from the Gabutti vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba. The 2013 Barolo Otin Fiorin Piè Rupestris is a magically ethereal, light and delicate expression that delivers a silky embroidery of wild raspberry, rose, dried violet and crushed stone aromas. The wine shows an incredibly fine and nuanced texture that lacks any overt sense of power or muscle but that instead imparts impressive length, depth and general dimension. The wine shows the richness of Serralunga d'Alba but remains light-footed and delicately fleeting all the while.

The 2013 is a distinctly cool, savory Barolo Rupestris with dark tonalities of fruit and striking textural depth, but also a bit more reserve than is usually the case. Precision, nuance and detail are among the many signatures in this gorgeous, compelling Barolo. A closing burst of perfume adds intrigue, but the 2013 is a wine of reserve that needs time to be at its very best.
Informazioni sul produttore

Serralunga d’Alba’s Cappellano is one of Barolo’s most legendary producers, producing ultra-traditional styles of Nebbiolo. Made famous by Teobaldo and now in the hands of his son Augusto, the estate is best known for its Barolo Piè Franco, a wine from ungrafted vines in the Gabutti Cru.
