Note di degustazione
The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a rip-roaring bouquet of feisty raspberry coulis, wild strawberry and plum aromas, hints of kirsch and tar emerging with time. Rich but controlled. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, quite plump in the mouth with hints of clove and orange zest. There is real depth and group here, a lovely roundness towards the sensual finish with sufficient energy to suggest it will give another decade of drinking pleasure with ease. Tasted at Bistro de l'Hôtel in Beaune.

The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a big step up from the Chambolle villages in this vintage. Bright red berries, flowers and spices are supported by vibrant layers of underlying minerality. I very much like the energy and focus here. The wine turns darker and richer with time in the glass. Hints of plum and black cherry linger on the structured finish. This is a 2009 that will need at least a few more years in bottle. The 1er Cru is made from young vines in Musigny.
