Note di degustazione
The 2001 Elivette, which is again a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend, is better than I remember it after bottling. Foresty black currant notes intermixed with some fresh sauteed porcini mushrooms, damp earth and a floral note are all noticeable in the impressive perfume. Medium-bodied, slightly more compact than the Cabernet Sauvignon, but displaying nice, sweet tannin and very good fruit, this wine should drink well for another 10-12 years. Tel. (707) 967-4188

Very dark blackish ruby with healthy shading. Meaty, bloody, interesting nose. Different from most! Very sweet and mellow. Lovely balance and although this is potent, it is well balanced. A hint of mint and menthol but lovely richness. Slightly dusty end but a very good rendition of what the Napa Valley has to offer. A little over the top but this has managed to last and evolve. Very lush and luscious. Hint of coconut. Blind guess: valley. Revealed location: mountain. (JR)
(cabernet sauvignon with 8% merlot and 3% petit verdot) Deep ruby-red. Aromas of currant, black plum, licorice and truffle. Dense, sweet and spicy but high-pitched, with notes of chocolate and truffle. Rather uncompromising young wine, finishing dusty and firmly tannic.
