2019 Domaine Castagnier Clos Saint-Denis

The 2019 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a gorgeous bouquet of black cherries, boysenberry, wild strawberry, crushed stone, touches of white pepper and oak that is beautifully integrated. Very pure and stylish, the palate is medium-bodied and peppery, with fine tannins and a wonderful sense of control toward the finish. I think this has huge potential once it subsumes that veneer of new oak. Superb. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
