First bottle oxidised. Second bottle exceedingly plummy on the nose. Quite dry start. Interesting. Lively young wine that should mature nicely. (JR)

This wine seems to be in the process of putting on some weight and texture. Dark ruby/purple, with a sweet nose of black cherries, currants, plums, earth, and licorice, the wine is medium-bodied, with a nice plush entry on the palate, adequate acidity, and moderately ripe tannin in the finish. It does not appear to have the volume, depth, and power of the 2000, but there are good things going on. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2013.
Light, slightly vegetal nose. Not forced. Relatively simple and an easy, dry end. (JR)
This is a bit lean, but it has some good berry character, silky tannins, currant flavors and a medium to light finish. Best from 2004 through 2008. 6,665 cases made. -James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2004
