(14.2% alcohol): Bright dark ruby. Sexy aromas of crème de cassis , licorice, violet, espresso and dark chocolate. At once supple and juicy in a rather Old World style, with plum, berry and chocolate flavors lifted by some herbal high tones. Lovely ripe acidity gives shape to the wine's youthful fruit. This penetrating Cabernet needs more time in bottle to soften and for its herbal elements to harmonize with its fruit. The substantial tannins also call for patience.

The finest wine I have yet tasted from Piero Antinori’s rocky hillside vineyard on Soda Canyon Road in southeast Napa, this 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a dense purple color along with a rich, sumptuous bouquet of licorice, creme de cassis, and smoky oak.
