2019 Outpost Immigrant True Vineyard

Roughly equal proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot—although the proportions do vary somewhat from year to year—the 2019 True Vineyard Immigrant was harvested in a single pick and co-fermented. Blessed with floral notes and scents of mixed berries, it's full-bodied, with taut acids that seem to accentuate the velvety tannins, giving them a slightly coarse feel on the long, mouthwatering finish.

The 2019 Immigrant True Vineyard is Outpost's Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Franc co-fermented. Intense floral and savory inflections in the bouquet are immediately arresting. Super-ripe dark cherry fruit, cinnamon, leather, blood orange, dried herbs and sweet oak start to open with a bit of aeration. In 2019, the Immigrant is a bit nervous and tense, which is not a bad thing here, where the wines are never lacking in opulence. The 2019 is impeccably done.

The 2019 Immigrant is in the same ballpark qualitatively and has plenty of cassis and blueberry fruits as well as notes of new leather and violets. This pretty, full-bodied, lively 2019 has ripe tannins, good acidity, and a clean finish. Give it a year or three.
