Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 1995-2020, Tim Jackson MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2020

Mid garnet. Just a hint of mustiness, with touches of mint and Christmas cake, orange peel and dried red fruit. A fine line of acidity cuts through the core. Fruit starting to fade here a bit? I enjoyed this wine a few years ago, but perhaps it’s starting to reach the end of its ideal drinking window? (TJ)

Exceptionally deep crimson. Still some blue, even. Very dense and polished. Slightly dry and clarety, a bit like the Dow 1980, but juicier than the Dow. Very good density. Clean, sinewy and muscular. No spirit in evidence in this wine that is all fruit. (JR)

Deep ruby with evolution. Simple sweetness. A little dusty on the nose and lots and lots of sheer sweetness but not enough depth. Then quite severe tannins. (JR)

Graham is another great port house, producing one of the deepest-colored and sweetest styles of vintage port. Along with Taylor and Fonseca, Graham has probably been the most consistent producer of great port in the post- World War II era. Their tawnys are quite good rather than exceptional, but their vintage ports are truly sublime and sumptuous.
