1998 Franz Hirtzberger Riesling Hochrain Smaragd

Scents of blue plums and white pepper. Atypically creamy and fat in the mouth. Plenty of material here, but almost to the point of bitterness, and tasting as if it still needs to sort itself out. Finishes warmly with peach and distilled plum.
