2003 Riesling Loibner Ried Steinertal

Harvested the third week in November, this exhibits an esterous aromatic complexity reminiscent of fine Calvados and orchids. Displays a pithy concentration of bittersweet pit fruits, black walnut and stony minerality, with palpable extract and compact density. Sweet orchard fruits and stones tumble forth in a sensationally long and powerful yet still elegantly balanced chordal crescendo of a finish. 2 stars.
