Note di degustazione
Tasted at the Denis Mortet Chambertin vertical, the 2004 Chambertin Grand Cru has that typical "green meanie" nose, green bell peppers and mothballs knocking the aromatics off balance, turning more towards cornichon-like scents with time. The tannins feel dry and it stumbles over the finish line in unseemly fashion. Another victim of the 2004 "curse." I am afraid this is one to avoid. Tasted January 2016.

Deep ruby-red. Knockout nose combines strawberry, raspberry, mocha, game and flowers; less black in fruit character than some of the foregoing samples. Suave and sweet but with a lovely light touch thanks to perfectly integrated acidity. Highly complex flavors of red fruits, espresso and game. A step above the Clos Vougeot in depth and persistence of flavor. This offers considerable early appeal now owing to its balance and elegance, but has the flavor authority for at least mid-term aging.
