Note di degustazione
20% Cabernet Franc. Tasted blind. Edgy acidity but quite bracing and well constituted. Not the ripest but at least it’s refreshing. (JR)

Named after the lieu-dit, the 2016 Château Moulin Saint-Georges is made by the Ausone team, and their 2016 is a brilliant bottle of wine based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Loaded with notions of smoky black fruits, tobacco leaf, cassis, and gravelly, earthy minerality, this beauty is medium to full-bodied, has ripe tannins, impeccable balance, and a blockbuster finish. Give bottles 2-4 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 15+.
The 2016 Moulin Saint-Georges has a beguiling, pure black cherry and bilberry bouquet that develops subtle pressed iris scents with time. The oak (85% new) is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and vanilla-y red berry fruits that gently grip the palate, leading to an almost candied finish. This feels long and tender, maybe without the grip of its Vauthier stablemate Haut-Simard, but with very good length. Superb.
