The 2021 Hermitage Blanc Les Rocoules is gorgeous. Dried flowers, linden blossom, lemon peel, quince, melon and yellow apple are all pushed forward. Packed with insane levels of energy and tension, yet at the same time totally light on its feet, the 2021 is a quintessential Hermitage Blanc and ranks alongside the finest white wines of the 2021 vintage. It closes with persistence on the razor-sharp finish.

Super-mineral with honeycomb, malolactic notes and golden apple. The palate is rounded with a lovely texture. Not overly rich but has wonderful, depth, weight and character. Almond nuttiness through the middle and a lovely mineral finish. A saline note towards the end just creeps in. Very, very good indeed. (AC)
