Rich, yeasty, broad nose with toast and cooked apple. Long and stylish and persistent. Superbly ornate nose. Powerful. Excellent! (RH)

Magnum. 70% Verzy Pinot Noir. Plus Chardonnay from Chouilly, east-southeast-facing. No malo because it was such a ripe harvest. Pale straw gold. Explosive nose. Rich and explosive. Lécaillon’s best Pinots since 1990, he says ('but both are beaten by 2018'). Lots to chew on. Tight but rich and generous on the mid palate at the moment. This may shut down, Lécaillon thinks. (JR)
70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. No malo, 8% vinified in oak casks. 4 years on lees. Dosage 9 g/l. Neat, dense, creamy. A bit sweeter than I would have expected. Smoky and creamy. Quite frothy! Is Jean-Baptiste making a point here? Long and satisfying but quite young. (JR)
70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. 16% malo and 8% oak fermentation. Disgorged in early 2017. Picked very ripe at 11.3-11.5% potential alcohol, and deliberately reductive. Smoky nose and then quite rich and dense. Masses of hedonistic pleasure. (JR)
