Fermented and aged for 11 months in new French oak. Tasted blind. Candied peach Melba, cream, sweet spice, a squeeze of lemon in the middle. The ripe fruit has excellent definition, and there’s lovely chew to the finish. (RH)

The 2021 Art Series Chardonnay is detailed, focused and fresh, with powerful acidity and phenolics that work hand in hand to drag out the wine over the long finish. The acidity and phenolics wrap around a core of pure, clear fruit. The 2021 vintage in Margaret River was challenging in that, while the season was average to warm in terms of temperature, the rainfall throughout the growing (and harvest) time was consistently intermittent. This meant that viticulturists across the region were kept on their toes with ongoing canopy and disease management. The resulting Chardonnays, in particular, from the region were very good quality, reflecting the exhausting and exhaustive season that birthed them. This wine is testament to that effort.

Aged 11 months in oak.  Opulent oak with generous fruit giving smoke, grapefruit, green apple and toast with great concentration and persistence. Maintains the Margaret River style with that savoury finish complemented by forthright fruit. Succulent yet sizeable. (RH)

Extremely complex and classy on the nose with aromas of lemon peel, flint, nectarines, sea salt and minerals. The palate is tightly wound with high-tension acidity, generous mouthfeel and an underlying power, showing notes of lime curd, mandarin pith, orange blossoms, baking spices and gunsmoke. Very complete and made for the ages. Excellent. Drink or hold. Crown cap.
