2019 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru

This too is aromatically quite cool with its more elegant array of essence of rose petal, red pinot fruit and a whiff of exotic spice elements. There is again fine volume and plenty of minerality to the dusty, compact and distinctly austere finale. As should be the case, this is quite backward and will need at least 12 to 15 years to arrive at its apogee.

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is blended with 57% whole bunch (one-third of this vineyard has just been replanted). It has a lovely bouquet of black cherries, cherry liqueur, black pepper and just a touch of balsamic. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a little more austere than other Les Amoureuses that I have tasted, but leading to a precise finish.
