Bittersweet iris and intimations of quarry dust mingle with scents of fresh apple, kiwi and lime. A polished palate boasts lusciously juicy fruit, alluring inner-mouth perfume, and dynamic interaction with stony, peppery, gingery and seemingly crystalline mineral notes. The 13.7 percent alcohol lends fullness without weighing down the wine or engendering more than the merest hint of heat on the impressively persistent finish. "It was good not to have waited any longer to pick these grapes," remarked Bodenstein.

Full-bodied, round, intense and highly elegant, this is a concentrated and powerful Veltliner with a dense and intense fruit. You can drink it now, but this would be a waste of talent. This is a spectacular wine with a piquant acidity and a very ripe and intense, but still precise, fruit and a dominating mineral bass line. The wine has a very good tannin grip, too.
