Note di degustazione
Caramel and cinnamon from oak, wrapped around a core of ripe, almost jammy raspberry. Rich and fruity, with quite firm, chalky tannins. A bit of alcohol at the finish, but overall, attractive. QGV (TJ)

The 2018 Fixin Les Crais sees around 20% new oak. It has a lovely bouquet of dark cherry, black currant and violet aromas, the 20% whole cluster nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite good structure and fine acidity. Much more dense on the finish compared to the Fixin Village.
Alluvial soil with lots of little stones. Easier to work than the heavy clay soils. Amélie Berthaut considers this to be the emblematic cuvée of the domaine. 20% whole bunch and 20% new oak. 1.3 ha (3.2 acres) produces 8,000 bottles. Some young vines of 15 years but others up to 70 years old. Tank sample. Fragrant stony/mineral red fruits. Juicy, generous and finely fresh, paper-fine tannins and real finesse in the texture. Already drinkable but no hurry. (JH)
