The 2006 Brut Spécial Club is a powerful, bombastic wine that showcases the natural intensity of Aÿ. Baked apple tart, spice, butter and a touch of tropical fruit all develop as the 2006 opens in the glass, showing off its creamy, expansive personality. Radiant and inviting, the 2006 is showing well today. Dosage is 8.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: April 19, 2020.

The 2006 Special Club Millesime is a terrific example of the Goutorbe house style at its best. Rich and creamy in the glass, the 2006 offers wonderful depth from start to finish. Apricot, mint, pastry, tangerine oil wild flowers and spice lend an air of exoticism. I would prefer to drink the 2006 over the next few years, as it appears to be peaking. Disgorged: May, 2018.
Goutorbe's 2006 Brut Special Club Millesime is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so. Resonant and ample on the palate, the 2006 speaks with a voice of conviction.
