1999 Kurt Darting - Durkheimer Hochbenn Muskateller Eiswein

This smells of pear distillate and handfuls of sweetly aromatic green herbs, going beyond anything the monks of Chartreuse would countenance. In the mouth, there is a crystalline purity of pear drop and lemon candy, with the icing-like sweetness typical of much Eiswein, but not too dominantly sweet. Candied and distilled-herbal notes cooperate in a harmonious finish. This is a lot of genuine Eiswein for the price. 1 star.
