Note di degustazione
The 2021 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge Pisoni Vineyard is loaded with gregarious layers of red and black cherries and plums and accents of pipe tobacco, lavender, fennel, bergamot and underbrush, revealing new aromatic nuances with each return to the glass. The medium-bodied palate boasts an equally compelling, concentrated core of perfumed fruit. It has a finely chalky texture, energetic yet seamless acidity and a very long finish that is loaded with flavor yet completely weightless in feel. I love this combination of power and perfume! 464 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge, is bright and explosive, with tons of energy. As always, Le Moulin Rouge is made from fruit sourced from the Pisoni Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. It is one of the most refined, nuanced wines from this well-known site. I especially admire the purity of the fruit here. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, lavender and hints of dried rose petal linger.
The 2021 Château Le Moulin is a juicy, delicious Pomerol in the making that reveals a spicy, complex, medium-bodied profile as well as classic Merlot notes of ripe black cherries, kirsch, roasted herbs, chocolate, and lead pencil. It has some of the firmer tannins of the vintage, but this is going to shine right out of the gate and certainly evolve for 10-12 years.
