Note di degustazione
Almost brazen in color, the 1989 Gewürztraminer Clos Windsbuhl is an intense, elegant, very mineral, complex and sweet wine; it is concentrated and provided with grippy tannins. This is a very densely woven Gewurz whose finish is very aromatic and slightly bitter, indicating apricot flavors and some minty notes. Drink over the next ten years. (Tasted at WeinArt in Geisenheim.)

The nose was almost oily nose in that overblown Gewurz way (although the rose petals had dissipated to such an extent that I thought it could have been a Pinot Gris). But after a wonderfully rich palate with many a nuance, it finished dry and appetising. Very long. Has survived miraculously and was delicious with pâté de foie gras. (JR)
