The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain Estate is highly expressive, wafting up with a dark and alluring blend of sage, dusty violets, crushed blackberries and spice. This is plush and supple yet energetic, with texturally deep red and black fruits that take on a crunchy sensation as saline minerals amass toward the close. It leaves balsamic spice and a bitter tinge of plum skins to slowly fade, finishing with incredible length. The 2020 is structured for the long haul. The tannin management is quite impressive here, making for a truly harmonious Cabernet from Red Mountain.

Unquestionably up with the top wines in the vintage, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain Estate reveals a dense purple hue to go with a full-bodied, concentrated, nicely structured style offering ample cassis and assorted blue-tinged fruits, some classic Red Mountain minerality and scorched earth nuances, beautiful overall balance, integrated oak, and a pure, lengthy style that's going to evolve for 15-20 years in cold cellars. There's enough structure here to warrant a solid 2-4 years in the cellar.
Firm, fresh and ripe, the 2020 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon opens to a complex nose of dusty oak and dark berry essences as it shows power and finesse. Full-bodied, the palate is mineral-driven, with rich and expressive ripe blackberries and an absolutely gorgeous and succulent mouthfeel that uncoils and unwinds across the ever-evolving finish with a delightfully tannic edge. The wine rested for 22 months in 85% new French oak. Bravo! What a stunner! Only 3,000 bottles were made.
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain Estate checks in as 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, aging in 75% new French oak. This red and blue-fruited beauty has lots of chalky, graphite, and tobacco aromatics, medium to full body, ripe, polished tannins, and a balanced, lengthy, remarkably pure style on the palate. It's another beautiful barrel sample from this estate that should certainly rank with the crème de la crème in the vintage.
