Bright gold. Clean, mealy nose with definite development but no deterioration. Firm, upright, with savoury notes and lovely structure. I'd say this has no further to go and the fruit is gently declining but it has the weight of a Bâtard without being too fat. Lovely balance. Very firm and dense. A hint of walnuts. Long and very bright. (JR)

Marked gold. Flat, big impression. This wine lacks lift-off it is so enormous. Could go well with certain powerful foods; it would be absurd to drink it on its own. Comforting but not stimulating. New World stereotype weight. (JR)
