Note di degustazione
Offering up aromas of pear, smoke, baking spices and buttered toast, the 2019 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) is medium to full-bodied, layered and compact, revealing a rather introverted personality when I tasted it. I suspect it was simply in a somewhat unfriendly phase.

The 2019 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has quite a rich, honeyed bouquet that just deprives this of the same terroir expression as Jadot’s other Grand Crus. The palate is well balanced with a lightly spiced opening, and honeyed in style, offering notes of passion fruit, rhubarb and ginger toward the finish. Very pleasant to drink but it does not quite convey the essence of Bienvenues.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
