Punteggio 17.5/20 · Da bere 2009-2020, Jancis Robinson MW, Jun 2016

Mid copper colour. Fully evolved nose in the floral spectrum of Riesling. Very slightly soft by now. Full, broad but a second bottle was much nervier. (JR)

This wine was destined to be blended with the standard Émile, but was kept separate in the end. It has a waxy, honeyed character that could be top Chenin but the spice and lime keeps it Riesling. Awesome.

A special selection from within the Osterberg vineyard to celebrate the Trimbach house’s 375th anniversary that is just about to be launched. This is a very special wine for lovers of Riesling, bottled in Apr 2002 like the regular 2001. Very obviously riper than the regular CFE 2001 – much denser. Wonderfully deep and rich, finishing full and opulent, although so fine too. Very exotic nose has a rather beguiling hint of curry spice(!) on the nose. (JR)

Uncompromising aromas of crystallized lemon peel and powdered stone. Tactile, dusty and quite dry; almost salty with extract. A compellingly pure expression of minerality, in need of several years of aging.
