2018 Sandlands Red

The 2018 Red Table Wine (Contra Costa County) is 55% Carignane and 45% Mataro. Sweet red cherry, red plum, violet and spice are front and center in this racy, exuberant red. Time in the glass brings out darker tonalities along with hints of game, smoke, charcoal embers and licorice that are highly suggestive of Mataro. Savory, bold and full of character, the 2018 has so much to offer. I would cellar it for a few years to see what happens.
