Note di degustazione
(vinified with 25% whole clusters): Medium red. Sexy nose combines raspberry, truffle, crushed stone and smoky minerality. Supple, silky and fine-grained, offering a showy combination of fresh raspberry, mineral and earth qualities. This very dense Petits Monts finishes with suave, fully buffered tannins and terrific subtle length. A beauty in the making, but give it time.

(Veronique Drouhin's vineyard; vinified with 25% whole clusters): Good bright, deep red. Seductive aromas of blackberry, black cherry, licorice and black tea, lifted by a floral topnote. Tactile and energetic, conveying a strong soil impression to the raspberry and salty mineral flavors. Really echoes on the finish in a 2010-like way.
One of the clear highlights in this range, the 2012 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts is wonderfully layered and alive in the glass. Here the flavors are delineated and crystalline in their purity. Today, the impression is one of virtual seamlessness, as the tannins are nearly buried by the sheer depth and intensity of the fruit. There is a lot to look forward to here. At the time of my tasting, the 2012 was still in barrel and had not been racked.
