Note di degustazione
Possessing 66% Sonoma County and 34% Napa County fruit, the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc offers notes of fresh grapefruit, passion fruit and dried herbs with a hint of cedar. Medium-bodied, it delivers a great concentration of ripe citrus and tropical flavors with a pleasant oiliness to the texture plus great freshness and length.

The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is bright and finely sculpted, with an attractive range of citrus, mint and white flower notes. Ordinarily I would suggest drinking the Sauvignon Blanc over the next few years, but I tasted a bottle of the 2011 on my recent visit, and was still in fine shape.
34% fruit from Napa Valley, 66% from Sonoma Mountain. Some Sauvignon Blanc Musqué. 3,253 cases. 35% aged in barriques of which 15% were new. Very interesting to taste this straight after three Loire Sauvignons… Much richer and more tropical and denser on the nose. It’s not cheap. Reminds me a little of Araujo Sauvignon. I’d love to compare them. Definitely not bone dry, but fun. (JR)

Spottswoode is one of those rare Napa estates whose reputation rests less on volume or spectacle than on persistent exactitude. Set on the western edge of St Helena, where the Mayacamas rise and afternoon breezes temper the valley’s warmth, the vineyard occupies a favoured pocket of the appellation.
