Cool and discreet on the nose where precise slate aromas intertwine with ripe white peach and apricot notes, Fröhlich's 2012 Nahe Riesling Bockenauer Felseneck "GG" is a very pure, precise and finessed yet intense and terroir-driven Riesling of great elegance. Vegetal in the aftertaste. A great Felseneck! (From my rediscovered archive; tasted in February 2015.)

A tad richer than the Felsenberg with exciting tension too. Very well made. Though still quite stinky on the nose. Very structured with more than a hint of grapefruit peel and fennel. (JR)
It would be wrong to call this Tim Fröhlich’s Grosses Gewächs for light relief, but somehow the herbaceous aromas are a little more integrated into an intricate fragrance that is equally apt at expressing zesty aromas of citrus fruit peel and a whiff of stone dust. A delightful bitterness of grapefruit and orange peel is allowed to make a tasteful contribution to the pronounced flavour of salty minerality. This is not necessarily the best of the Schäfer-Fröhlich grand crus, but showing best at this early stage what tremendous potential these wines possess. (MS)
