RS 48.7 g/l, TA 8.5 g/l. The Leistenberg is not trying to impress with an opulent fragrance, but challenges the olfactory perception to explore the delicate complexity of fruit, ranging from local orchards to subtle orange. The palate exhibits a delicious citrus-peel tang with an almost spritzy sherbet quality. A very subtle nuance of bitter orange adds another dimension. (MS)

Tense and quite sweet. Chewy and masses of acidity. Very youthful. Still quite painful in terms of acidity. (JR)
Such neat, tense fruit. Very youthful but if ever there was a coiled spring... Still the leftovers of fermentation around but this should develop into something very exciting. (JR)
My notes of previous vintages do not make any mention of blackcurrant, but that is the fruit the Leistenberg has oodles of (I hope Jilly’s and Oz’s copyright has expired) in 2012. This blackcurrant experience does not only include the aromatic fruit flavour, but also the cheek-pinching, yet delightfully mouthwatering, acidity. Other Kabinetts may be satisfied with their achievement at this point, but the Leistenberg goes the extra mile with a fine minerally finish. (MS)
