40% Cabernet, 60% Shiraz. Aromatic with the Cabernet apparently in ascendant on the nose. Rich and beautifully balanced even if slightly hot on the end. Great for current drinking. (JR)

60% Shiraz, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from 37 year-old vines – selected fruit representing the crème de la crème of this family grower's production. Mid glowing crimson. Very sweet, ripe fruit with a mineral undertow. You can smell some of the sweetness of American oak here, shifting the profile into a corner of the blockbuster bullring. But it finishes cool and competently. The acidity is well integrated and many a wine drinker looking for oomph without exaggeration would really enjoy this. (JR)
