The 2017 Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg Riesling trocken –GG– (nicknamed "Felsentürmchen") is pure and fine on the stony, flinty and perfumed nose that is filled with ripe, yellow-skinned apples and very fine hazelnut notes and displays remarkable intensity and depth. Smoky notes. Full-bodied, fine and elegant on the nose, this is a pure, clear and quiet, very long and lovely dry Riesling with great finesse and calm. Excellent! Tasted in July and August 2019.

TA 7.5 g/l, RS 3.5 g/l. Lightly herbal citrus, quite different from the more pure-citrus Kreuznacher Krötenpfuhl. Almost peppery in its mineral quality. More lime-dominant on the palate, more austere than I expected and doesn't have the intensity of the Kreuznacher Krötenpfuhl but has a long, precise citrus finish. (JH)

Huckleberry and bay, grapefruit and pineapple inform a site-typical nose of penetrating pungency that anticipates this wine’s palpably dense, seedily piquant, invigoratingly zesty and tangy palate performance. Buddleia and elder flower lend alluring inner-mouth perfume. Juiciness of honeydew melon emerges accompanied by rind-like crunch and bitterness; but these are balanced by a coolingly green herbal presence, tangy citricity and pineapple core tingle.

Spirit of Melissa, eau de vie de mirabelle, gentle and pure fragrance. The palate takes you from mellow to vibrant, sporting highlights of ripe yellow fruit, stony minerality and invigorating acidity. A rich texture invites the taste buds to relax before they find themselves in the grip of a long chewy tactile finish. A Grosses Gewächs that puts the palate through its paces. (MS)
