2008 Montus Cuvee Prestige La Tyre

From the highest-elevation site in Madiran. First vintage was 2000. Aged in oak for two years.  Deep garnet colour, maturing nose that can't help but remind me of great Rioja with the oak and dried black fruit. Long, long finish. High tannins that grip the palate without drying it out too much, thanks to the acidic zing. A really fine example of Tannat at its mature best. (RH)
