1999 Riesling Privat

Complex nose of apple, plum, quince and flowers, already elusively tinged with minerals. In the mouth, this is also full of flowers, pit fruits and toasted nuts, with inner-mouth aromas wafting in and out of a savory mineral matrix. Incipiently honeyed, with a lovely sense of tiny, golden fruits and noteworthy lift; certainly the wine is chock full of extract, but it never laden down. Spectacularly complex, mouthcoating finish, with nutmeg, honey and peach notes emphasizing the wine's extreme ripeness, and with flowers and minerals omnipresent.
