2002 Deidesheimer Hohenmorgen Auslese

Sweet corn and honey on the nose. Lovely, juicy, luscious and extroverted on the palate, this makes a dramatic contrast with the firmer Maushohle Auslese. Sweet inner-mouth esters emphasize the botrytis element here. As with so many of the best 2002s, an oily, rich, caressing texture does not preclude sizzling acidity. Long finish of flowers, herbs, honey and sweet corn. 2 stars.
